॥ अथ ३.२०८ ॥
मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
३.२०८.५
यां कपर्दिसुतामाहुर्दृश्यादृश्येति देहिनः ।
तनुत्वात्सा सिनीवाली तृतीयाङ्गिरसः सुता ॥
M N Dutt Sinivali was the third daughter of Angiras. Her body was of such slender make, that she was visible at one time and invisible at another and therefore she was likened to the daughter of Rudra.
३.२०८.६
पश्यत्यर्चिष्मती भाभिर्हविर्भिश्च हविष्मती ।
षष्ठीमङ्गिरसः कन्यां पुण्यामाहुर्हविष्मतीम् ॥
M N Dutt Archishmati was his fourth daughter, she was so named because of her great effulgence; the fifth was Havishmati, so named from her accepting Havish (oblations); the sixth daughter of Angiras was named Mahishmati, whe was very pious.
३.२०८.७
महामखेष्वाङ्गिरसी दीप्तिमत्सु महामती ।
महामतीति विख्याता सप्तमी कथ्यते सुता ॥
M N Dutt O high-minded one, his seventh daughter was named Mahamati; she was always present at sacrifices of great splendour and that adorable daughter of Angiras whom they called matchless and about whom me cried kuhu, kuhu, in wonder was called Kuhu.
३.२०८.८
यां तु दृष्ट्वा भगवतीं जनः कुहुकुहायते ।
एकानंशेति यामाहुः कुहूमङ्गिरसः सुताम् ॥
M N Dutt O high-minded one, his seventh daughter was named Mahamati; she was always present at sacrifices of great splendour and that adorable daughter of Angiras whom they called matchless and about whom me cried kuhu, kuhu, in wonder was called Kuhu.
