अर्जुन उवाच ।
३.१७१.१
ततो मामभिविश्वस्तं संरूढशरविक्षतम् ।
देवराजोऽनुगृह्येदं काले वचनमब्रवीत् ॥

Arjuna said : Then the lord of the gods, seeing me, highly faithful and wounded with a arrows and acknowledging me as his own, duly spoke these words. me
३.१७१.२
दिव्यान्यस्त्राणि सर्वाणि त्वयि तिष्ठन्ति भारत ।
न त्वाभिभवितुं शक्तो मानुषो भुवि कश्चन ॥
न त्वाभिभवितुं शक्तो मानुषो भुवि कश्चन ॥

"O Bharata, all the celestials weapons are with you; (therefore) no mortal on earth shall by any means be capable of conquering you.
३.१७१.३
भीष्मो द्रोणः कृपः कर्णः शकुनिः सह राजभिः ।
संग्रामस्थस्य ते पुत्र कलां नार्हन्ति षोडशीम् ॥
संग्रामस्थस्य ते पुत्र कलां नार्हन्ति षोडशीम् ॥

O son, when you will be engaged in battle, Bhishma, Drona, Kripa, Karma, Shakuni, together with (other) kings, shall not approach (in strength) a sixteenth part of yours."
३.१७१.४
इदं च मे तनुत्राणं प्रायच्छन्मघवान्प्रभुः ।
अभेद्यं कवचं दिव्यं स्रजं चैव हिरण्मयीम् ॥

The lord Maghavan gave this impenetrable celestials armour capable of protecting the body, this golden garland,
३.१७१.५
देवदत्तं च मे शङ्खं देवः प्रादान्महारवम् ।
दिव्यं चेदं किरीटं मे स्वयमिन्द्रो युयोज ह ॥
दिव्यं चेदं किरीटं मे स्वयमिन्द्रो युयोज ह ॥

And also this conch, Devadatta, emitting forth loud roars. (And) Indra himself fixed this coronet (on my head).
३.१७१.६
ततो दिव्यानि वस्त्राणि दिव्यान्याभरणानि च ।
प्रादाच्छक्रो ममैतानि रुचिराणि बृहन्ति च ॥
प्रादाच्छक्रो ममैतानि रुचिराणि बृहन्ति च ॥

Shakra then granted me these precious and beautiful celestials garments and these hcavenly ornaments.
३.१७१.७
एवं संपूजितस्तत्र सुखमस्म्युषितो नृप ।
इन्द्रस्य भवने पुण्ये गन्धर्वशिशुभिः सह ॥
इन्द्रस्य भवने पुण्ये गन्धर्वशिशुभिः सह ॥

Thus, O king, duly honoured, I dwelt cheerfully in the abode of Indra with the children of the Gandharvas.
३.१७१.८
ततो मामब्रवीच्छक्रः प्रीतिमानमरैः सह ।
समयोऽर्जुन गन्तुं ते भ्रातरो हि स्मरन्ति ते ॥
समयोऽर्जुन गन्तुं ते भ्रातरो हि स्मरन्ति ते ॥

Then Shakra, well pleased, unanimously with the immortals spoke to me: “O Arjuna, the time for your departure has (now) arrived, your brothers are thinking of you.”
३.१७१.९
एवमिन्द्रस्य भवने पञ्च वर्षाणि भारत ।
उषितानि मया राजन्स्मरता द्यूतजं कलिम् ॥

Thus, O monarch, remembering the troubles brought on (us) by gambling I passed (these) five years in the abode of Indra.
३.१७१.१०
ततो भवन्तमद्राक्षं भ्रातृभिः परिवारितम् ।
गन्धमादनमासाद्य पर्वतस्यास्य मूर्धनि ॥

Then did I behold you surrounded by (my other) brothers on the summit of the lower range of the mountain Gandhamadana.
युधिष्ठिर उवाच ।
३.१७१.११
दिष्ट्या धनंजयास्त्राणि त्वया प्राप्तानि भारत ।
दिष्ट्या चाराधितो राजा देवानामीश्वरः प्रभुः ॥
दिष्ट्या चाराधितो राजा देवानामीश्वरः प्रभुः ॥

Yudhishthira said: O Dhananjaya, fortunately you have obtained these celestials weapons and it is by good luck too, that you have worshipped the lord king of the celestials.
३.१७१.१२
दिष्ट्या च भगवान्स्थाणुर्देव्या सह परंतप ।
साक्षाद्दृष्टः सुयुद्धेन तोषितश्च त्वयानघ ॥
साक्षाद्दृष्टः सुयुद्धेन तोषितश्च त्वयानघ ॥

And luckily, O tormentor of foes, O sinless being, you have beheld that very god, Sthanu himself, together with the goddess and pleased them by fighting
३.१७१.१३
दिष्ट्या च लोकपालैस्त्वं समेतो भरतर्षभ ।
दिष्ट्या वर्धामहे सर्वे दिष्ट्यासि पुनरागतः ॥
दिष्ट्या वर्धामहे सर्वे दिष्ट्यासि पुनरागतः ॥

And O the best of the Bharatas, luckily it is that you have obtained an interview with the Lokapalas. It is because you are fortunate that we have prospered and fortunately you have come back.
३.१७१.१४
अद्य कृत्स्नामिमां देवीं विजितां पुरमालिनीम् ।
मन्ये च धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रानपि वशीकृतान् ॥
मन्ये च धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रानपि वशीकृतान् ॥

Today do I consider the entire earth, adorned with cities, as conquered and the sons of Dhritarashtra as subdued.
३.१७१.१५
तानि त्विच्छामि ते द्रष्टुं दिव्यान्यस्त्राणि भारत ।
यैस्तथा वीर्यवन्तस्ते निवातकवचा हता ॥
यैस्तथा वीर्यवन्तस्ते निवातकवचा हता ॥

O Bharata, (now) I wish to see those celestials weapons by means of which you destroyed the powerful Nivatakavachas.
अर्जुन उवाच ।
३.१७१.१६
श्वः प्रभाते भवान्द्रष्टा दिव्यान्यस्त्राणि सर्वशः ।
निवातकवचा घोरा यैर्मया विनिपातिताः ॥
निवातकवचा घोरा यैर्मया विनिपातिताः ॥

Arjuna said : You will behold tomorrow morning all those celestials weapons whereby the Nivatakavachas were slain.
वैशंपायन उवाच ।
३.१७१.१७
एवमागमनं तत्र कथयित्वा धनंजयः ।
भ्रातृभिः सहितः सर्वै रजनीं तामुवास ह ॥
भ्रातृभिः सहितः सर्वै रजनीं तामुवास ह ॥

Vaishampayana said : Having thus related the events in connection with his arrival there, Dhananjaya passed that night there together with all his brothers.
