लोमश उवाच ।
३.१३९.४
अथावलोककोऽगच्छद्गृहानेकः परावसुः ।
कृष्णाजिनेन संवीतं ददर्श पितरं वने ॥
M N Dutt One day in order to see his wife, Paravasu alone went to the hermitage and he saw his father in the forest, covered with black dcerskin.
अर्वावसुरुवाच ।
३.१३९.१०
करोतु वै भवान्सत्रं बृहद्द्युम्नस्य धीमतः ।
ब्रह्महत्यां चरिष्येऽहं त्वदर्थं नियतेन्द्रियः ॥
M N Dutt Arvavasu said: Then perform the sacrifice of the intelligent Brihadyumna. On your behalf, I shall observe the vow prescribed in the case of killing a Brahmana by subduing my senses.
लोमश उवाच ।
३.१३९.१४
प्रेष्यैरुत्सार्यमाणस्तु राजन्नर्वावसुस्तदा ।
न मया ब्रह्महत्येयं कृतेत्याह पुनः पुनः ॥
M N Dutt ruler of earth, O descendant of Bharata, as soon as the king heard this, he ordered his men (to turn him out). Being driven out by the king's men and being repeatedly called by thein as the slayer of Brahmana, Arvavasu again and again cried, “It is not I that killed a Brahmana.'

ततः प्रादुर्बभूवुस्ते सर्व एव युधिष्ठिर ।
अथाब्रवीद्यवक्रीतो देवानग्निपुरोगमान् ॥
M N Dutt O Yudhishthira, the celestials said, “Be it so"; and they bestowed on him the boons. Thereupon all of them were restored to life. Then Yavakrit spoke thus to the celestials with Agni at their head.
