शशिरहितमपि प्रभूतकान्तिं
विबुधहृतश्रियमप्यनष्टशोभम् ।
मथितमपि सुरैर्दिवं जलौघैः
समभिभवन्तमविक्षतप्रभावम् ॥

Karandikar -(a reservoir ) that possessed ample lustre, though it was devoid of the moon, that had not lost its charm though its treasure (Laksmi) was snatched away by the gods, overwhelmed the sky by its streams of water though it was churned (crushed) by the gods and whose prowess remained unhurt ;
