बभूव याऽधिशैलेन्द्रं मृदित्वेवेन्द्रगोचरम् ।
कुषित्वा जगतां सारं सैका शङ्के कृता भुवि ॥

Karandikar —"which (originally) stood on the top of the mighty mountain (Sumeru), having pounded (surpassed) the kingdom (of heaven) under Indra. I presume that it is the only city constructed on the earth by extracting the essence of the world.
