शीघ्रायमाणैः ककुभोऽश्नुवानै-
र्जनैरपन्थानमुपेत्य सृप्तैः ।
शोकादभूषैरपि भूश्चकासा
ञ्चकार नागेन्द्ररथाऽश्वमिश्रैः ॥

Karandikar The earth began to glitter with people proceeding hastily, pervading the quarters, trailing along after spilling over to non-roads, mingled with big elephants, chariots and horses though (they were) void of ornamens on account of mourning.
