ज्ञात्वेङ्गितैर्गत्वरतां जनाना
मेकां शयित्वा रजनीं सपौरः ।
रक्षन्वनेवासकृताद्भयात्ता-
न्प्रातश्छलेनाऽपजगाम रामः ॥

Karandikar Having known, from their indicative jestures, the intention of the people to accompany him and having slept in the company of the citizens for one night, (thus) protecting them from the dangers caused by residence in a forest, Rama left at dawn, by (resorting to) a trick.
